Hunger Relief Grants

Hunger and food security remain dire issues for families across the United States a year into the COVID-19 crisis. The Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation is activating a third round of hunger relief funding for nonprofits and will be providing $1 million in new grants.

Understanding the urgent need, we will process grant applications for this new round of funding on a rolling basis and donations will be made immediately upon approval.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I apply for?
Examples of programs that are eligible for funding include food banks, food pantries, emergency food programs, grocery delivery programs, community gardens, food rescue initiatives, backpack programs, and school-based food programs. Organizations must have 501(C)3 tax status to apply.

When will we hear back?
Kindly, please do not reach out to inquire on status. We will review grant applications for this round of funding on a rolling basis and notify organizations of awards within a month of receipt of application. Declinations will be sent when all funding has been exhausted.

What is the grant range?
We do not have a guideline for range, as we encourage organizations to apply for what they need. In similar grant rounds, awarded grants have typically ranged between $5,000 and $25,000. However, we do recommend applying for your need even it falls outside this range.

I applied for a 2021 regional grant. Can I apply for a hunger grant as well?
If you already submitted a regional grant request focused on hunger programming you do not need to apply again – all hunger programming requests received by the Foundation in 2021 through the regional grants process will be considered for this funding opportunity.
