BOSTON (March 18, 2019) — The Joy in Childhood Foundation, the charitable foundation powered by Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins, is kicking off a “Week of Joy” on March 18, 2019 in partnership with Feeding America®, the largest domestic hunger-relief organization in the U.S. This week-long volunteer event will boost Feeding America member food banks around the country with more than 2,000 extra sets of hands during 100 events planned nationwide.

During the Week of Joy, Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins franchisees, crew members and Dunkin’ Brands employees will give back to their communities in support of the Joy in Childhood Foundation’s mission to provide the simple joys of childhood to kids battling hunger or illness.

Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins franchisees and crew members will be volunteering their time at Feeding America member food banks during the “Week of Joy” for a total of more than 100 Week of Joy events planned around the country.

In addition to these local volunteer events, Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins volunteers will host check presentations in which they will present grants to select Feeding America member food banks across the country to support child hunger relief efforts. These grants are part of the Joy in Childhood Foundation’s three-year, $1.5 million commitment to Feeding America in support of children facing hunger. This support helps food banks across the country feed children in local communities through critical Feeding America initiatives, including its Backpack Program which provides hungry children with nutritious and easy-to-prepare food to take home on weekends and school vacations when other resources are not available.
