Dunkin’ Joyful Spaces™ bring the joy of play and healing to kids battling illness and their families, offering them a space with a sense of normalcy within the hospital environment.
Hospitals and health centers are typically sterile environments that don't provide a sense of normalcy for pediatric patients and their loved ones. Dunkin’ Joyful Spaces™ help by creating and revitalizing places within these environments for kids and their families to escape the traditional hospital setting while undergoing care. These kid friendly spaces include community gardens, playgrounds, playrooms and more. Launched in 2022, this program has granted more than 20 Dunkin' Joyful Spaces to date.

To be eligible, applicants must be a children’s hospital, community health center, or general hospital with a dedicated pediatric department and be within geographic proximity to Dunkin’.

Grant deadlines and announcement timelines are updated on the website. Funding is awarded upon executed gift agreement.

This is a grant opportunity for hospitals and community health centers to apply for room renovations and updates to existing spaces that bring joy to pediatric patients. Organizations can apply for a variety of needs including revitalizing or building play spaces, healing gardens, and teen focused rooms as well as building playgrounds or updated play equipment. We encourage creativity and thinking outside the box to create the most joyful space for your patients.

The grants are structured for single- or multi-year programming not to exceed three years. Grant amounts vary but typically range from $25,000-$65,000 per year. Grants do not exceed $150,000.
