In 2017, the Joy in Childhood Foundation made a three-year, $1.5 million grant to Feeding America to support programs that combat child hunger. These include programs like the BackPack Program and the Kids Cafe Program, which ensure that children have enough to eat both at school, and after-hours, on weekends and during school vacations.
Between March 18-22, more than 2,000 Dunkin’ franchisees, crew members and brand employees got to experience the mission of the Foundation and the work of Feeding America member food banks first-hand when they volunteered during the Foundation’s fifth Week of Joy. Teams sorted food, unpacked boxes, made meals and assembled bags of food for kids and families in need all across the country. This was the Foundation’s biggest Week of Joy yet, with 100 events throughout the country. To see more photos, check out the pictures and stories on the Foundation on Instagram.
